14 Mother's Day Activities and Crafts for Kids Learning Chinese
The first Sunday of May is Mother’s Day! It so happens that my mom’s first name is also May, so at the end of April, my brain automatically switches to crafting mode because the month of May means celebrating May, my dearest mom!
As a child, I loved making crafts for my mom because no matter how good or bad the crafts turned out, she always seemed so happy to receive my gifts! I think it’s safe to say that the most meaningful gifts that moms receive are the ones the kids made themselves, pure and one of a kind!
Mother’s Day crafts can be all kinds of things, from the classic handmade cards to handprinted aprons to origami flower bouquets. The possibilities are endless when it comes to Mother’s Day crafts. We had so many crafting ideas but many of them were too challenging for the kiddos. But armed with years of crafting experience, we came up with simple and open-ended crafts that kids can make to express their love for mom, in Mandarin Chinese of course! One of our favorite ones is probably the "I Love You Mom & Grandma" greeting cards. With the challenge of traveling during the pandemic, sending a "semi" handmade card to the grandmas would certainly brighten their day!
Mother's Day Crafts & Activities
One of the focuses of our activities this year on creating memories together. We want to make activities that mom and kids can do together. These mommy and me activities are perfect for a sunny or rainy afternoon. We hope some of them will become keepsakes, such as our “All About Mom” and “Message to My Dearest Mom” printable that moms can enjoy re-reading year after year.
And these activities not only help the kids celebrate Mother's Day, they also help the kids practice their Chinese!
And as always, beautifully illustrated flashcards for every day immersion.
So whether your kiddos are in preschool, kindergarten, or elementary school, we have Mother’s Day activities for everyone! And all of them infuse a little Chinese learning so your kids can create something special for this monumental day and hone their Chinese at the same time!
Share your Mother's Day activities with our community of moms! Send your photos to careteam@lingobuddies.fun or add #lingobbudies to your social media posts!
