Our Mission

To help children develop a love of learning Mandarin

Our mission is to help children nurture a love of learning Mandarin Chinese and become lifelong learners of this beautiful language.

Our Method

Learn through play

Children learn naturally through play.  Play is where they explore new ideas, develop new skills and solve problems on their own.

That’s why our resource library centers around playful games and activities.  From arts and crafts to science and nature, our diverse contents are made to inspire creativity and spark curiosity.

We want children to play with confidence.  Our cross-cultural materials make it easy for kids to connect as they discover new subjects and cultural diversity.

And we strive to help parents and educators create a playful and immersive environment at home or on the go.  Our multi-sensory resources provide tools to build fun Mandarin-rich surroundings.

About Founder

您好!

I am Julia, also known as "Auntie Juju" to 5 adorable (and mischievous) nephews and nieces between the age of 1 to 12.  I was born in Taiwan and raised in Canada.

Unlike many of my childhood friends that went to Sunday Mandarin schools, I learned Mandarin at home, or more accurately, next to my white bookshelf filled with Mandarin picture books and old fashion activity books passed down from my older siblings.  As a child, learning Mandarin was super fun because I loved reading Chinese fable stories and drawing the different characters.  And whenever I get stuck, I could knock on my siblings' doors to ask for help without getting booted out.

Now 30 years later, it's my little nephews and nieces that knock on my door for help.  Fortunately I have a few tools up my sleeve to keep them excited about learning Mandarin.  Having taught English in Taiwan to children between 3 to 12, I have learned how to create fun lessons and activities to keep the little ones busy and engaged.

Learning Mandarin is an amazing journey, it’s about discovering a new culture, appreciating its deep history and having a ton of fun! I hope you will enjoy LingoBuddies.fun with your child and build a memorable journey of learning Mandarin together.
